As I stood in Samaritan Ministries, it all flashed before my eyes.
I remember the first day the participants were dropping off their applications, to the day they interviewed and wrote they wanted to work in Samaritan Ministry soup kitchen. It made me so proud to see them holding hands, praying and serving.
To have the director confirm that the youth have been amazing thu far; even the “15 year old”. Most sites felt the younger the youth, the harder it would be. I believe, the younger the participant, the more impact they can have! I knew at that point we are on the way to making an impact in our community that will never be forgotten. I am so grateful for the City of Winston-Salem and the Housing & Urban Development. Their partnership with the Urban League makes it possible for us to change a life.
