WSUL Applauds City Finance Committee’s Support of Teen Jobs Program; Extends Application Deadline The Winston-Salem Urban League (WSUL) applauds the decision by the Winston-Salem City Council Finance Committee to recommend the City Council increase the budget for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) by $50,000. The proposal, by Councilman Derwin Montgomery, would increase program participation from 100 teens to approximately 135 teens. In consideration of the potential increase, WSUL is extending the application deadline to 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 23rd.
