About the Huff Family Pop-up Gallery

The Winston-Salem Urban League will host a pop-up art gallery during April First Friday Gallery Night featuring art by James and Earnestine Huff. The event is set from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, on Friday, April 7th. The pop-up art gallery will display art from, and pay tribute to the careers of James and Earnestine Huff. During the event, Jasmine Huff will screen a short documentary about her parents’ work.

A Unique Part of Winston-Salem

Working from their studio in an historic home on North Patterson Avenue in Winston-Salem since 1972, the Huffs created award-winning art that has been exhibited in museums across the world and solicited by renowned collectors. Both together and separately, the couple depicted the African-American figure, African-American life, African-American celebrities and African-American history. The Huffs are unique in that they are one of few acclaimed married African-American partner artists. Their love and their work tie deeply to Winston-Salem.
